Nicholas Merritt is a young attorney with trial experience. Prior to joining Wilenchik and Bartness, Nicholas spent almost two years at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office practicing child welfare law. While at the Attorney General’s Office, Nicholas was the first chair attorney in over 100 trials and other contested evidentiary hearings.
Nicholas received his Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 2022. Nicholas earned the highest honors distinction from ASU for his pro bono activities and the CALI Award for Future Excellence for his studies in the course Special Topics in Water Law. While in law school, Nicholas interned at the Cochise County Attorney’s Office; The Office of the Federal Public Defender; The Maricopa County Office of the Legal Advocate; Kennerly, Lamishaw & Rossi and Arizona Municipal Strategies. Nicholas was also elected to the Student Bar Association.
Nicholas received his B.A. from Gettysburg College, where he studied film and business. Nicholas played rugby for the Gettysburg College Men’s Rugby Football Club and served on its executive board for three years. While at Gettysburg, Nicholas worked as the Peer Leering Associate for the course Introduction to Caribbean Music.
